Solution:Under the leadership of Gandhiji, the Congress greatly promoted the constructive program. He did not only want political freedom but also the economic, social, and spiritual upliftment of the masses. With this spirit, he established the 'Village Industries Association' (Gram Udyog Sangh), 'Basic Education Society' (Talimi Sangh), and 'Cow Protection Society' (Gau Raksha Sangh). He worked for the encouragement of cottage industries.
Pandita Ramabai, a talented woman from Maharashtra, founded the Arya Mahila Samaj and Sharada Sadan, which was a widow's home, established by her in Bombay in 1889 CE. She also founded Mukti Sadan.
