• This shortcut activates the "Insert" menu and then selects the "Rows" option, resulting in a new row inserted above the active cell's row. 

• A spreadsheet is an accounting program for the computer.
• Spreadsheets are primarily used to work with numbers and test.
• Spreadsheets can help organize information, such as alphabetizing a list of names or ordering records and calculate and analyse information using mathematical formulas.

• When you type an equals sign in a cell and then enter a combination of values, cell references, operators, and functions,
• Excel interprets that entry as a formula and calculates the result. If you forget the equals sign, Excel will treat your entry as plain text.

The Standard Toolbar provides tools for standard tasks such as

• saving,
• printing,
• cutting,
• copying,
• pasting, etc.

The Formatting Toolbar provides the user with tools for formatting like Bold, Italic, Underline etc. The View button gives the user options to switch between Normal, Web Layout, Print Layout, Outline and Reading View.

1. Font This defines the shape of our characters.
2. Font Style We can make characters stand out by making them bold, italicized or both.
3. Size It increases decreases the size of the characters.
4. Underline-Through this option we can underline a specific text to draw attention to it.
Effects-Effects let you apply or remove character formats.

• Software developers Richard Brodie and Charles Simonyi joined the Microsoft team in 1981, and in 1983 they released Multi-Tool Word for computers that ran a version of the UNIX operating system (OS).
• Later that year, the program was rewritten to run on personal computers (PCs), such as the IBM PC, under Microsoft's version of DOS (disk operating system). or MS DOS, and was renamed Microsoft Word.

• The earliest version of windows MS-DOS was the Microsoft disk operating system, which was the character-based operating system used in many computers but didn't succeed.

The keyboard shortcut to minimize all programs on a computer screen and display the desktop in Windows is: Windows key + D

1. Press and hold the Windows key (usually located between the Ctrl and Alt keys on the left side of your keyboard, often with the Windows logo on it). 
2. While holding the Windows key, press the D key.

This action will instantly minimize all open windows and show your desktop. Pressing Windows key + D again will restore all the previously minimized windows.

In the default setting of Microsoft Windows, the taskbar is located at the bottom edge of the screen.   

• This has been the standard placement for the taskbar in Windows for a long time, providing easy access to the Start button, pinned applications, currently running programs, and the system tray (notification area) on the right side.  
• While users can customize the taskbar's location to the top, left, or right edges of the screen through the Windows settings, the bottom is the default and most common position.
