Eid-ul-Fitr is the main festival of Muslims. It is celebrated when the crescent moon is visible.

Muharram is one of the most significant festivals celebrated by the Muslim community in India as it marks the beginning of the Islamic New Year.
• Eid Milad un Nabi or Mawlid al-Nabi or Eid-e-Milad or Milad un Nabi is the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the last messenger of Islam.

• Eid ul-Zuha or Eid al-Adha is the Holiday of Sacrifice, the second and the larger of the two main holidays celebrated in Islam (the other being Eid al-Fitr). It honours the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Ismail) as an act of obedience to God's command.

‘Gurpurab’ is the most important and sacred festival of the Sikh community. It is celebrated in the Kartik month of the Hindu calendar.

‘Bhagta Parab’, a tribal festival that is celebrated between the period of spring and summer, originated in the state of Jharkhand.

The Festival of ‘Hareli’ is celebrated in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. It is a regional public holiday that is celebrated on Shravan Amavasya, which is the new moon day marking the beginning of Shravan month. On this day, farmers worship their machines and cows.

The popular festival ‘Chavoth’ is related to the state of Goa.
