There are 6 classical languages in India—(1) Tamil (2) Sanskrit (3) Telugu (4) Kannada (5) Malayalam and (6) Odia. Therefore Bhojpuri is not a classical language.

Eravalla, Kadar, Muduvar are the languages spoken mainly by the tribes in Tamil Nadu.

Hakki, Pikki and Siddi are languages from Karnataka.

Churches and Convents in Goa were built by the Portuguese. These monuments were influential in spreading forms of Manueline, Mannerist and Baroque art in all the countries of Asia where missions were established.

‘Rang Ghar’, one of Asia’s oldest amphitheatres, was built by the king of the Ahom dynasty.

The Mattancherry palace, also known as Dutch Palace, is situated in Kerala. It was built by the Portuguese in 1557 and presented to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of Kochi.

Sarai Nurmahal is a centrally protected monument of India located in the state of Punjab. It is situated in the town of Nurmahal in the Jalandhar district of Punjab. The monument was constructed on the orders of Noor Jahan, wife of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir under the supervision of Zakariya Khan in 1618AD.

Bagan city, the world’s largest and densest concentra- tion of Buddhist temples, pagodas, stupas and ruins, is situated in Myanmar.

This monument was designed by the same architect who designed the city of Chandigarh, Le Corbusi- er. It is part of Sector 1 of the capitol complex but has an imposing presence of its own. It is the official emblem of Chandigarh and has become almost syn- onymous with the city in popular imagination. The hand is raised to a height of 85 ft and weighs around 50 tonnes. It is planted in a trench, which is called the Trench of Consideration. The monument is created out of metal sheets and is an excellent example of the avant-garde art of the period.
