Solution:Prithvi-II is a single-stage liquid fuelled missile having a maximum warhead mounting capability of 500 kg with a range of 250 Km. In November, 2006 DRDO successfully conducted the interception test using a Prithvi-II missile.
In this test an exo-atmospheric hypersonic interceptor missile was destroyed an 'enemy' Prithvi missile at an altitude of 50 km. In this test Prithvi-II was not for guard/protection but an attacking missile.
The exo-atmospheric hypersonic interceptor missiles of Prithvi Air Defence (PAD) can be deployed to guard the metros against air attack.
