The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana was launched on 28th August 2014 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It also entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most bank accounts opened in one week. The scheme sought to financially empower the poor by providing them access to the formal banking system.

Swavalamban Yojana was started by the government in the year 2010 for the purpose of pension by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Atal Pension Yojana (APY) launched on 1st June, 2015 has replaced Swavalamban Yojana.

The Central Government has introduced the National Pension System (NPS) with effect from January 01, 2004 (except for armed forces). NPS was made available to All Citizens of India from May 01, 2009. Initially, the age of 18 to 60 years was valid to join this scheme. In 2017 it was amended from 18 to 65 years.

Rashtriya Uchchattar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) is a holistic scheme of development for higher education in India initiated in 2013 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

The objective of 'Bachat Lamp Yojana' (BLY) run by the Ministry of Power is to bring down power consumption. For this, through this scheme, the use of CFLs is to be encouraged and the distribution of CFLs is to be done.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Matritva Sahyog Yojana, an amount of Rs 6000 is provided to women who become mothers above the age of 19 years, while an amount of Rs 5000 is provided under the currently operated 'Matru Vandana Yojana'.

Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana was launched on 25 September 2017. The estimated total outlay of this scheme is Rs.16320 crores.

The Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana is a scheme launched by the government of India which aims to provide 24 x 7 uninterrupted electricity supply to each rural household across the country by 2022. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it aims to strengthen the distribution and sub transmission network to prevent power losses.

UJALA is a scheme for the LED based Domestic Efficiency Lighting Programme (DELP). UJALA is an acronym for Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All.

Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (UDAY) is a scheme developed by the Government of India and launched in 2015. This scheme aims at achieving the goal of providing a continuous supply of power to all the citizens of the country and at an affordable rate. This scheme will help the distribution companies (DISCOM) financially by restructuring their debts to lower interest rates and also reducing the technical losses.
