Solution:Jawahar Rozgar Yojana (JRY) was started w.e.f. 1 April, 1989 by merging two erstwhile wage employment programmes National Rural Employment Programme (NREP) and Rural Landless Employment Guarantee Programme (RLEGP). Pairs of other three options are correctly matched. The main objective of the scheme was to create wage employment opportunities in rural areas, which can help people to earn their livelihood. Under JRY, work was carried out on the development of roads, schools, and other infrastructure in rural areas, benefiting the rural communities.
The scheme gave priority to weaker sections like Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, women and landless so that they can get equal opportunities. JRY encouraged the formation and growth of Self Help Groups (SHGs) so that the rural poor could organize themselves and improve their economic condition. The scheme also organised training programmes to teach people various skills so that they can get better employment.
