Solution:Canine Distemper Virus is the main cause of recent death of lions in Gir National Park. It is a member of Paramyxoviridae family that causes canine distemper disease which affects a wide variety of animal families, i.e., dogs, cats, etc.
This disease is highly contagious via inhalation. It affects gestrointestinal and respiratory tracts and sometimes nervous system. High fever, eye inflammation, coughing, diarrhea, loss of appetite, hardening of nose, etc, are its common symptoms.
