• The world's highest peak, Mount Everest, as well as other peaks. such as Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, and Nanga Parbat, are part of the Greater Himalayas range.

• It is found in Gulf of Mannar, which is a shallow bay area between south eastern tip of Tamil Nadu and western part of Sri Lanka, and at Palk Bay, a semi enclosed shallow area in the same region.

• Moreover, many low pressure systems develop in the Bay of Bengal during this period and move towards the east coast of Tamil Nadu causing heavy rainfall.
