Tamil Nadu was the first state in India to introduce the Mid-day Meal Scheme.
● The scheme was introduced in 1956 by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, K. Kamaraj.
● The scheme was initially implemented in a few schools in Chennai, but it was later extended to all government schools in the state.

● A group of peasants clashed with the police in ChauriChaura, Uttar Pradesh, and set fire to a police station, killing 22 policemen.
● Mahatma Gandhi postponed the Non Cooperation Movement in 12 February, 1922.

Our atmosphere is divided into five layers.
● Troposphere: The troposphere is the lowest layer of the atmosphere and is where we live. It contains most of the Earth's weather and clouds.
● Stratosphere: The stratosphere is the layer of the atmosphere that contains the ozone layer. The ozone layer protects us from harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun.
● Mesosphere: The mesosphere is the layer of the atmosphere that is coldest. It is where meteors burn up.
● Thermosphere: The thermosphere is the layer of the atmosphere that is hottest. It contains the ionosphere, which is important for radio communication.
● Exosphere: The exosphere is the outermost layer of the atmosphere. It is where the atmosphere thins out and merges with space.

Famous cricketer Ben Stokes plays international cricket for England.
● Ben Stokes is a world-renowned all-rounder who has played for England in all three formats of the game - Test cricket, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
● He is known for his aggressive batting, athletic fielding, and fast bowling.

The Congress and the Muslim League signed the Lucknow Pact in 1916.
● The Lucknow Pact was an agreement between the two parties on a number of issues, including the future structure of government in India.
● The pact also agreed to give Muslims a greater share of representation in the provincial legislatures.

The Indian Government guarantees 100 days of employment in a year to every rural household under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 (MGNREGA).
● MGNREGA is a legal right and a social safety net for the rural poor. It provides unskilled manual work to any rural household whose adult members volunteer to do it in exchange for a minimum wage.
● The work provided under MGNREGA is generally related to water conservation, drought proofing, and infrastructure development.

● Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian award of India, who set up in 1954. Only three person who conferred bhart ratna once.

The koel (Eudynamyss colopaceus) is a bird that does not make its own nest.
● Instead, it lays its eggs in the nests of other birds, such as crows and babblers.
● The koel chick then hatches and pushes the other chicks out of the nest.
● This behavior is known as brood parasitism.
