SONAR [ Sound Navigation and Ranging ] is used for locating submerged objects in an ocean. It is based on a very simple principle i.e pulse of ultrasonic waves is sent into the water, it strikes the target and bounced back towards the source.It helps to detect or locate the submerged and icebergs.

SONAR (Sound Navigation and Ranging) is primarily used by Navigators.

• Voltmeter: Measures the electric potential difference (voltage) between two points in a circuit.
• Voltameter: An older term, sometimes used to refer to an electrolytic cell used for quantitative chemical analysis based on electrolysis, or for measuring electric charge. It's not the standard device for measuring current in a general circuit.
• Potentiometer: Primarily used to measure or compare electromotive forces (EMFs) or to provide a variable resistance in a circuit.
