Solution:In July 2015, the State of Uttar Pradesh proposed to abolish the role of Chief Justice in the selection of Lokayukta.On August 27, 2015 the Lokayukta and Deputy Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill 2015 was passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, according to this Bill, the Lokayukta's selection panel will have 4 members - Chief Minister, Leader of Opposition, Speaker of the Assembly and a retired Judge.
Retired Judge will be the fourth member to be selected in consultation with the Chief Minister and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. Later the bill was reserved for President's consideration.
