GM Crops i.e. Genetically Modified Crops are those crops whose genes are artificially modified. Generally hybridization method is adopted for increasing the yield of a specific species of crops, tolerance to weeds, disease or drought resistance and nutritional improvement in it.
Advantages of GM Crops:-
(1) Farmers can get higher yield from GM crops.
(2) GM crops can be helpful in cultivating marginal land of farmers which is prone to drought and saline land.
(3) GM crops are insecticidal.
(4) GM crops can increase the nutritional quality of food items.
