Solution:When this question was asked, there were 16 districts in Chhattisgarh. On 11th May, 2007, two new districts were formed namely Bijapur and Narayanpur carving out Dantewada and Bastar respectively. Thus the number of districts became 18. Afterwards on 1st January, 2012 with the formation of 9 new districts (Sukma, Kondagaon, Baloda Bajar-Bhatpara, Balod, Bemetra, Balrampur - Ramanujganj, Surajpur, Gariyaband and Mungeli) together, the number of districts became 27 districts. "Gaurela - Pendra - Marwahi" was created with effect from 10th Feburary, 2020. In September, 2022 five new district were inaugurated: Manendragarh-chirminir-Bharatpur, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai and Sakti (33rd). So at present there are 33 district in Chhattisgarh.
