12. If 12 boys or 15 girls can do a work in 48 days, in what time will 24 boys and 6 girls do twice the work?

Correct Answer: (2) 40 days
Solution:∴ 12 boys = 15 girls
∴ 24 boys = 30 girls
∴ 24 boys + 6 girls
= 36 girls

∴ M₁D₁/W₁=M₂D₂/W₂

⇒ 15 × 48/1 = 36 × D₂/2

D₂ days

13. What will come in place of the question mark (?) in the following number series?

224   576   752   840   884 ?

Correct Answer: (3) 906
Solution:The pattern is :
  1. 576 - 224 = 352
  2. 752 - 576 = 176
  3. 840 - 752 = 88
  4. 884 - 840 = 44

∴ ? = 884 + 22 = 906

14. What will come in place of the question mark (?) in the following number series?

55   66.15   88.45   121.9   166.5 ?

Correct Answer: (4) 222.25
Solution:The pattern is : 55 + 11.15 = 66.15

66.15 + 2 x 11.15 = 88.45

88.45 + 3 x 11.15 = 121.9

121.9 + 4 x 11.15 = 166.5

166.5 + 5 x 11.15

= 166.5 + 55.75 = 222.25

15. What will come in place of the question mark (?) in the following number series?

36   49   75   88   114 (?)

Correct Answer: (5) 127
Solution:The pattern is
36 + 13 = 49
49 + 2 x 13 = 75
75 + 13 = 88

88 + 2 x 13 = 114

114 + 13 = 127
