Micheal Martin was elected as Ireland’s new prime minister on 27 June 2020 after his centre-right Fianna Fail party sealed a historic coalition deal with long-time rivals Fine Gael as well as the Green Party.

Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) in association with TransUnion CIBIL on 30 July 2021 launched MSMESaksham – a comprehensive financial education and knowledge platform for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
● Aim: to guide MSMEs across their credit lifecycle, from availing credit to start and grow their businesses.

The Environment Ministers of the five BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China & South Africa) participated in the 6th BRICS Environment Ministers’ Meeting on 30 July 2020 via videoconference under the presidency of Russia.
● Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar represented India in this meeting.

Sonam Tshering Lepcha was a folk musician, composer and lyricist of West Bengal.
● He was the first among Lepcha people to air his voice on All India Radio and was credited with the revival of Lepcha culture of Sikkim.

The government on 6 August 2020 appointed G C Murmu as the new comptroller and auditor general (CAG) of India.
● Till then, he was serving as the Lt governor of Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
● Murmu replaced Rajiv Mehrishi as the CAG.

India’s first ‘Kisan Rail’ started from Devlali in Maharashtra’s Nashik on 7 August 2020 and travelled till Danapur in Bihar.
● From Maharashtra’s Devlali to Bihar’s Danapur, the train covered the journey of 1,519 kilometres in over 31 hours.
