From the questions (31-34)
Seven people viz. A, B, C, D, E, F and G run different kilometres in a day. D runs more than B and E but less than G. B does not run the least. C runs more than B but less
than G and F. F runs more than G but not the most. The person who runs the second highest runs 17 km.
The person who runs the third lowest runs 8 km.
(Note : All the given numbers are whole numbers only).
If with respect to the number of kilometres run, F + B = 23 km and B + D = 19 km, then:
Which of the following is true as per the given information?
(A) C runs for 8 km.
(B) Only three people run less than D.
(C) The total number of kilometres run by C and A is definitely less than 24 km.
Correct Answer: (5) Bot (A) and (B)
Solution:G > D > B, E
G, F > C > B
F > G
B does not run the least. F does not run the most.
Thus, E runs the least and A runs the most.

F + B = 23 km.
∴ B = (23 - 17) km. = 6 km.
B + D = 19 km.
∴ D = (19 - 6) km. = 13 km.
Therefore

Statement (C) is not true as
A + C = More than 25 km.
Statements (A) and (B) are true.
