The Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage (DPPQS) is an agency of the Government of India that is responsible for plant protection, quarantine, and storage. It is the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of India.It's objective is to reduce crop losses from pests through integrated pest management, to promote safe trade by providing technical inputs, phytosanitary inspection, treatment, and certification, to regulate pesticides, to warn and control locusts, to train in desert areas, to build capacity in plant protection.
The DPPQS is located in the Old CGO Complex, NH IV, Faridabad, Haryana. The DPPQS provides services to Indian exporters and importers of agriculture commodities and the Indian Pesticide Industry. It provides services through two portals, Computerized Registration of pesticide (CROP) and Plant Quarantine Information System.
