The knee joint is a Hinge joint.

• Hinge joints allow movement primarily in one plane, similar to the hinge of a door.
• The knee facilitates flexion and extension of the lower leg.

The colorless mineral that comprises a significant portion of our bones, and is crucial for many bodily functions including detoxification, is Calcium.

• Calcium phosphate is the primary mineral component of bone.

(1) Synarthrosis or Immovable
(2) Amphiarthrosis or slightly moveable
(3) Diarthrosis or freely movable

Based on structural classification in the human body, there are three types of joints -

(1) Fibrous joints
(2) Cartilaginous joints
(3) Synovial joints

• Ball and socket joints allow for multi-directional movement and rotation, where the rounded head of one bone fits into a cup-like depression of another.

• Sutures are fibrous joints found in the skull, providing rigidity and protecting the brain, with virtually no movement.
• Synovial joints are characterized by a joint capsule and fluid, allowing for free movement.

The joint where the neck connects to the head (between the atlas and axis vertebrae) is a pivotal joint, enabling us to rotate our head side to side.

The vertebrae are a part of the Spinal cord system in humans.

• More accurately, the vertebrae form the vertebral column (spine), which encases and protects the spinal cord, a crucial component of the central nervous system.

• Bone, cartilage, and blood are all types of connective tissues, characterized by a matrix that surrounds cells.
• Skeletal muscle is a type of contractile tissue responsible for movement.

• All ribs are attached posteriorly to the thoracic vertebrae and are numbered accordingly from one to twelve.
• Ribs that articulate directly with the sternum are called true ribs, whereas those that do not articulate directly are termed false ribs.

• the carpus or wrist accounts for 8,
• the metacarpals or palm contains five;
• the remaining fourteen are digital bones; fingers and thumb.

The palm has five bones known as metacarpal bones, one to each of the 5 digits.
