• It is India's first satellite-based global positioning system that relies on ISRO's GSAT satellites.

• Aditya LI will study the Sun's corona (Visible and Near Infrared rays), Sun's photosphere (soft and hard X-ray), chromosphere (Ultra Violet), solar emissions, solar winds and flares, and Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs), and will carry out round-the-clock imaging of the Sun.

• It is designed and developed by Human Centres Design and Computing Group, Centre for Development of Smart Computing (C-DAC) Pune.

• In 1969, INCOSPAR was renamed as ISRO (Indian Space Research organisation).

• ISRO built India's first satellite, Aryabhata, which was launched by the Soviet Union on April 19, 1975.

• It achieved criticality on October 29, 1996.

• KAMINI was the first and is currently the only reactor in the world designed specifically to use Uranium-233 fuel.

• Use of the large Thorium reserves to produce Nuclear fuel is a key strategy of India's nuclear energy program.

• The satellite will give a boost to the strategic communication and networking capabilities of the IAF.

• GSAT-7A will enable superior real-time aircraft-to-aircraft communication and between aircraft and base station.

• GSAT-7A is expected to boost the IAF's network-centric warfare capabilities by interlinking all ground-based radars, airborne early warning and control aircraft for surveillance, maintain air superiority, gather intelligence by detecting aircraft, vessels and other vehicles in long range.
